Have you thought to yourself that there is more to YOUR life than what you are currently experiencing? An untapped well of joy, purpose, and possibility inside you, just waiting to spill over?
I think so, “Be the Best You” is a weekly that promotes your personal development, growth mindset, and navigating your work-life balance.
So, why spend 3-5mins with me on a Sunday morning?
I believe that through shared experiences we can inspire each other to reach our goals. We each have an authentic story to hearten the next person and build interconnectedness. “Be the Best You” is not about me telling you what to do but rather me sharing my experiences with you and YOU sharing yours.
The 3 value propositions of the newsletter are:
1. Help readers challenge assumptions that hold them back.
2. Reconnect with what makes life meaningful.
3. Gain clarity to transform mindsets.
After reading a post by
, I decided that I would re-introduce myself to my readers and fellow substackers.I am
, I have lived in Bulawayo, Gaborone, Johannesburg, and currently in Cambridge, UK. I share these dwellings with my wife and our 3 kids [ 9, 6, and 4 ] (I can't believe that the nappy days are over 😊).#pic from 2018, in JHB.
I have had the good fortune of living through, 3 decades (almost 4!) and have been a student of life. For the last 17 years, the corporate sector has been a place to harness my craft, so I do have a few stories, experiences, and lessons to share, and I hope they resonate with you. I promise to make them as practical and relatable as possible. In 2018, I embarked on a journey of personal development that lead to tremendous growth. The process of self-development is, of course, still ongoing. Some of the articles will be based on this journey, some will be from YouTube videos that inspired me, books I read, podcasts I listened to, and anything else that I feel will inspire you on your life journey. This is an adventure that I hope we can embark on together, with actionable tips, of course.
The Journey So Far.
This is my first online writing experience and Substack was been a learning curve. It took me about 30 minutes and a couple of pauses before pressing the “publish button” on my first article in June 2023. I had just watched a video by
where she spoke about H.O.P.E ( Help One Person Everyday ) which resonated with me and gave me the courage. My first 3 subscribers were my family. That was encouraging and it has kept me going ever since. I currently have 226 subscribers and I will detail my Substack journey in another post. The community here is supportive and has a great vibe. I have been fortunate enough to engage with great writers, some of whom are listed here - (

Run your race, don’t compare yourself to anyone else.
It may take time, but you will find your tribe.
For some, this is not your full-time job so time management is key.
Substack is a vibe, be a little kind to your fellow substackers.
I look forward to getting to know this community better in the weeks ahead, over many spills of coffee. If this is your first time coming across this page, welcome! Please share your name and Substack URL or anything that resonated with you from this (or other) article(s) in the comments section.
Thank You for mentioning me . This made my day.
This is a really concise and clear introduction to your work Tinashe! Already a subscriber and fan of your writing, but it’s always great to hear what drives folks to this platform. I think the “About” pages and posts are among my favorite things to read on Substack. Anyway, thanks for this post!
